The preview of SteamVR support will be made available to consumers by the end of this year. Microsoft has allowed developers to access the SteamVR titles which enables them to test their games with Microsoft’s series of headsets. Microsoft has already made a move to enter the gaming world in Virtual Reality which can be presumed by its previously made announcement in which it said to support SteamVR Titles on its windows mixed reality headsets. In this upcoming launch, Microsoft is not going to offer the full game of Halo but one can get the good experience of Halo in Virtual Reality. The VR experience created by 343 industries looks somewhat similar to the lightsaber VR experience provided by HTC Vive last year. Halo Recruit is designed to create the look and feel of VR characters in famous games which can be downloaded for free on 17th October. The best and only real place to play Halo in VR right now is with the uninspiring Recruit app that’s exclusive to Windows VR and has you shooting holographic targets.Microsoft with 343 industries is ready to launch the Halo VR Experience for Windows Mixed Reality Headsets on 17th October. More progress on ReclaimerVR /Fg6K3vNQy1Īfter all, Microsoft’s Xbox branch still doesn’t seem interested in bringing a VR headset to its new consoles anytime soon. It seemed like it could be a very comprehensive mod of one of the best Halo games, but now a future release doesn’t look likely. Last time we saw ReclaimerVR was December 2019, with motion controls added into the game. That’s more likely to be what the developer is working on. But Nibre also tweeted out a link to an evolved mods system for the Master Chief Collection in the same thread. We know what you’re thinking and, yes, it could be a big deal that the developer behind two major VR mods is working on Halo in an official capacity. Nibre was also behind the excellent Alien: Isolation VR mod. Last week the modder tweeted out that the Halo: Reach VR mod known as ReclaimerVR is “on ice for the time being”. That much was confirmed by modder Nibre, who now works on the series in an official capacity, serving as an engineer for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. We’re still some ways away from playing a full Halo game in VR the promising Halo: Reach VR mod is now “on ice”.
